![]() I can understand they overlooked it, but at some point I, as a paying customer, can expect a statement and plan for a solution, especially after I have noticed the developer. They could have pulled the game from the store or updated the description accordingly. It's a developer's and publisher's job to properly maintain a product or implement a decent sunset strategy. It's not our job to do market analysis and then go "yeah, we're just X % as a user group, so we must expect being lied to and/or forgotten". This is admittedly in part on steam, as they mark the games pretty unreliably (several in my Library are marked as not 64-bit ready but do in fact run fine).īootcamp is one option, but for many (including me) overkill for a game they intend to play casually. I got it as a gift this Christmas and my buddy could not easily see it would potentially not run for me. The transition to 64-bit on macOS has been clear for several years and yet they decided to release it for macOS. But if a developer decides to support a platform and markets their product as such, we can expect that to be the case. Nobody is demanding that any developer must decide to support a niche platform. Just not MacOS, because ALMOST NO ONE USES MACOS. You can use even more obscure builds of Unix and Linux. Absolutely idiotic.Īnd you don't have to use Windows. I'm not a "Windows kid" for wanting people to use a feature they have instead of demanding absolutely insane resource usage from a developer for a platform that only has 3.31% (and sinking) user share. It's not worth it for them, simple as that. Stop whining about feature that are insanely weird to ask for with a user share that is sinking every year. It's not worth it for the low userbase of Mac users to pour that much time and effort into it.ĮSPECIALLY when you have Boot Camp on your Mac. If the engine doesn't support it, it doesn't support it, period. ![]() It's not as simple as just to bloody rebuild the game in 64 and "pow" it magically is 64 bit. Obviously I will only have interest in a sequel once I've finished the original game :D This is a pretty popular game, and it would be very unprofessional to leave a lot of people with a game they bought not that long ago and can no longer play.
